Set Your Alarm For Early!

Put down your Sunday night glass of wine. Get your kit ready and go to bed early. Because we'd love to see you in the park or studio at 6.15am tomorrow morning! You'll feel amazingly smug after your workout, and you'll glow all day. It will be worth the early start. We promise!

This week you can choose from the following early morning sessions. They all start at 6.15am and finish at either 7.00am or 7.15am.

You're welcome to use your class passes at any of these sessions. Or you can drop-in to the park for £10 a class or the studio for £12 (you need to pre-book for the later).

Welcome to our new HA trainer, Jane Brooks!

I'm delighted to welcome Jane Brooks to the HA fitness team!

Jane is going to be running our 6.15am Strengthen, Stretch & Restore (yoga) classes in our Wimbledon Village studio on Thursday mornings. We start this week!

Why not treat your body and mind to a really special kind of workout?

At 6.15am you may walk into the studio feeling stiff and sleepy. But by 7.00am your body will glow with openness and energy! These sessions may also help to reduce stress and anxiety, so that you can start your day feeling calm, grounded and ready for anything. There are so many benefits to an early morning yoga practice. Come and find out for yourself!

The level is mixed, from beginners to the experienced yogic. We warmly welcome both men and women to join us. What have you got to lose!?

A Little About Jane...

After completing a Sports Science degree Jane moved into the administration side of the sports industry.  Over the years she has worked as a Personal Assistant for professional golfers at IMG, as well as at BBC Sport, the RFU and the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Jane discovered yoga about 10 years ago and has been practicing ever since. This is what she says about her own practice:

"I enjoy the increased sense of well-being and how it can complement other sporting interests. I personally felt the real benefits of yoga when I picked up a calf injury playing tennis and noticed how it aided my recovery.  As a result, during a career break in 2016, I completed a 200 hr teacher training course with Shanti Power Yoga.

I like to teach flowing vinyasa-style classes that provide a challenge for all levels, but are also enjoyable, with a well-deserved Savasana (relaxation) at the end."

Our first Cardio Blast class at 6.15am with Antonio in the studio starts tomorrow! We've got a few of spaces left, so do let us know if you'll be joining us. We're looking forward to seeing both old and new clients there.

Update On Studio Prices - We Want You There!

Following feedback from all of you, we've made it easier for you to try out our new studio.

For our Cardio Blast classes in September only, there are now 3 ways you can join us:

  1. You can use your HA fitness class pass (email us to book your session)
  2. Any Wimbledon Park Boot Campers can use their sessions at the studio (email us to book your session)
  3. You can now drop-in for just £12 (do book first though)

When:

  • 6.15-7.00am - Monday mornings
  • 6.15-7.00am - Wednesday mornings

It's really important that you book in advance. We have limited space, so we'd advise not leaving it until the last minute. Either book via paypal or drop us a line to let us know.

Kettlebells Boot Camp In South Park Gardens - Tomorrow Night!

We've got a few places left on our last Kettlebells Boot Camp tomorrow night.

This session will challenge your cardio system, muscular strength & endurance. Your core will be fired up and your glutes will be switched on big time. In other words, you'll burn calories and sculpt your whole body, all in one go!

Early Morning Wimbledon Park Boot Camp!

Schools out for summer! If you're wondering how to fit in a workout while the kids are off, why not do it before they get up?

Our early morning outdoor BootCamp in Wimbledon Park is a great way to burn calories, and strengthen and tone-up your body. You can do it all before work and before the rest of the family gets up.

We have clients of all ages, sizes and fitness levels join us in the park. You'll feel welcomed and benefit from a strong sense of camaraderie.

The classes are fun, energising and motivating. No class is ever the same!

When is it?

  • The classes are at 6.15am -7.00/7.15am during the week, and 9.00-10.00am on Saturdays. The dates are:

Week 1: Mon 24 July, Wed 26 July, Sat 29 July
Week 2: Mon 31 July, Wed 2 July, Sat 5 Aug
Week 3: Mon 7 Aug, Wed 9 Aug, Sat 11 Aug
Week 4: Mon 14 Aug, Wed 16 Aug, Sat 19 Aug
Week 5: Mon 21 Aug, Wed 23 Aug, Sat 26 Aug

How does it work?

  • You sign-up to doing 5 weeks of training with us over the above time period. You can choose to do either 1, 2 or 3 sessions a week. If you've got a holiday booked in August, work out how many sessions you can do, and sign-up for the relevant number of sessions below.
     
  • It's simple, flexible and keeps you committed to your goals!

Where is it?

How much Is It?

  • You can choose how much or how little you do.  The cost for the 4 weeks is either:

£87 if you book 3 sessions a week (total of 15 classes)
£75 for any 2 sessions a week (total of 10 classes)
£41 for any 1 session a week (total of 5 classes)
£10 for 1 drop-in session (1 class)

How do I book?

  • Bookings close at midnight on Saturday (do it now while you're still thinking about it).

Wimbledon Park Earlies - vote with your feet!

We love our early mornings in the park, especially in the summer. However, over August we know many of you, like us, will be away. We therefore need your help.

We'd love to know your availability for our Wimbledon Park 6.15am sessions from the end of July to beginning of September.

We usually train on Mondays and Wednesdays, but we've also added some Friday mornings onto our schedule over the summer too.

When will you be here & which classes would you like to come to? Tell us on our very quick survey!

If you're not an early morning regular in Wimbledon Park, why not give it a go over the summer? We meet at 6.15am at the Revelstoke Road entrance. You can then choose to finish at either 7am or 7.15am. Why not make a pledge that you'll join us now by checking some dates in our survey!

If you select a class & then later find you can't make it, that's OK, just let us know as soon as possible.

Please make your selection by the end of Wednesday 19 July (it's really very quick to do). We'll then confirm the dates we're offering, based on popularity, by Sunday 23 July

Kettlebells BootCamp In South Park Gardens - 2 Class Special!

Due to popular demand, we've added 2 more Wednesday night Kettlebells sessions onto the timetable!

These 2 sessions will challenge your cardio system, muscular strength & endurance. Your core will be fired up and your glutes will be switched on big time. In other words, you'll burn calories and sculpt your whole body, all in one go!

We're limiting the numbers, so that we can give you individual attention based on your experience and ability. So make sure you don't miss out, and book your place today!

We will try to put on 2 classes for both evenings, but if we don't get the numbers (we know a lot of you are away), there will be just one class at the earlier time:

If you book and can't get to the session for some reason, you're welcome to make it up at one of our regular Fit In The Park classes. Please note that our Boot Camps are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Important Class Update

Tennis fortnight is about to begin!

We do love all of the Championship buzz, but it also means that one of our lovely training grounds, Wimbledon Park, turns into a campsite!

We're determined not to cancel any of our classes, so here's the plan for the next 2 weeks.

Buggyfit postnatal classes will take place in Durnsford Park (see below). We'll be there at our regular times of 11.00am on Mondays & 11.00am on Thursdays. If you've got older children, bring them along as there is a fantastic little playground!

Our Monday and Wednesday 6.15am sessions will meet just outside of the Revelstoke Road Wimbledon Park gate. We'll then be putting you through your paces either in or around the park. Please don't bring lots of stuff with you, as we maybe moving around a bit. It should be lots of fun though!

Fit In The Park Saturday 9.00am - we will confirm the location this week for you.

Durnsford Park is a lovely green area just off Durnsford Road (put SW19 8EY into your sat nav). You'll find street parking (pay-at-machine) on Wellington, Lucien, Gordondale, Havana & Mount Roads. It's a bit further away from where all the action is, so there are no Wimbledon Tennis parking restrictions.

Obviously we do recommend leaving your car at home & giving your workout an extra boost by walking, running or cycling to our classes. However, if you're driving around Wimbledon during the tennis fortnight, it can get very busy, so it's wise to plan in extra travel time. Parking can also be challenging as there are restrictions in place.

All of our South Park Gardens classes will be running as normal & everyone is welcome to come along. Check out our timetable for full details of all our classes. Be warned though, we've got some great workouts planned & we may even include a tennis theme here & there. We know this is a busy time, but we'd love to see as many of you as possible training with us over the coming weeks. 5-day bootcamp next week anyone?

As we all seem to be waking up really early at the moment, it seemed a good idea to put on an early morning 5-day HIIT BeachBody Bootcamp next week in South Park Gardens!

The goal?

To make the most of those extra hours awake, and to do some last minute work on that beach body!

Tempted to join us?

Just give us everything you've got for 45 minutes, everyday, for 5 days. Our fast-paced workouts will blast away that extra winter weight. The back-to-back sessions will both challenge and motivate you.

Who should come?

We welcome both men and ladies of all abilities to join us. It'll be a fantastic and fun way to boost to your summer fitness whatever your current level.

How does it work?

HIIT BeachBody BootCamp will run every morning from 6.15 - 7.00am in South Park Gardens from 26th June to 30th June. If you miss a class, you're welcome to make it up at our Saturday session either at 7.45am or 9.00am.

How do you sign-up?

It's just £45 for the 5 days. Book your place now!

Bookings will close for this BootCamp end of play tomorrow (Friday). This gives us the weekend to plan an amazing week for you!

Have you plans for the long weekend?

If not, here's a little help for planning your next 3 days...

Saturday in Wimbledon will be a "mostly dry day with sunny spells developing, and just the odd light shower possible" (Met Office).

So join us tomorrow for Fit In The Park in the sunshine!

Sunday's outlook is "bright and breezy, but with a chance of rain later." So head out for a walk/jog/run in the morning and maybe plan a healthy casserole for the evening (best leave the BBQ in the shed).

It's then going to be "rather cloudy on Monday with some rain, clearing later with winds easing."

We're not running any classes on Monday, so maybe enjoy an easy morning and a bike ride for the afternoon (pack your waterproofs just in case).

We're then back up and running again for a "mostly dry Tuesday with sunny spells".

South Park Gardens - Fit in The Park - Summer's coming, we're outside tonight!

Fit In The Park will be back in the park tonight! It's a fantastic way to start the week. We get a lovely mix of both men & women of all fitness levels coming along.

For those of you who don't know it, South Park Gardens is just a 5 min walk from Wimbledon station. If you're driving, there's free parking in Effra, Faraday & Clarence Roads after 6.30pm (some of the other roads are metered at this time). 

So get those trainers on & join us at 7.30pm tonight for some outdoor fitness fun. You can use your HA fitness class passes or drop-in. All details are on our website.

Exercise your Eggs Off In Wimbledon!

Yes, we're thinking about Easter all ready and we'll no doubt have you hopping around the park like a bunny at some point.

But before I get into that, it's Mother's Day in a couple of weeks time, and if you need (or would like to drop hints for) a fantastic gift, why not go for one of our Gift Vouchers? Or book that amazing woman in your life onto one of our BootCamps or courses (see below). It'll last longer than flowers and is better for the waistline than chocolates!

On that note, if you'd like to burn-off any chocolaty indulgences in advance, we're running a special class on Good Friday (14 April) at 9.30am in South Park Gardens which will replace our regular Fit In The Park session. It's suitable for all levels and abilities and we'd love to see your husbands, wives, partners, family & friends there too. Children can come & play nearby & babies in buggies are welcome (they all remain your responsibility!).

It's a busy time of year for everyone, so we'd like to know how many people will be joining us. We’re therefore asking everyone to book & pay in advance (your class passes won't be valid). It's just £8 for 1 person or £14 for 2. Hop over to our BootCamp page to sign-up now while you're still thinking about it.

I'm sure you'll be pleased to know that our Saturday classes in Wimbledon Park and in South Park Gardens will all be running as normal over the Easter period. Unfortunately there will be no Buggyfit classes on Bank Monday, however we'd love to see you all with or without your little ones on Good Friday and Easter Saturday!

As always, you're welcome to drop-in on any of our Buggyfit or Fit In The Park classes (check out our busy timetable online), but it does work out cheaper to buy one of our class passes in advance.

Welcome Antonio!

We're really pleased to welcome Antonio Marakovic to the HA team!

After qualifying with the YMCA as a Personal Trainer, Antonio has spent the past couple of months with the HA Team learning about our clients and classes.

Antonio is brimming with fresh ideas & has lots of new moves to share. He is also incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about fitness, health and training. You can read more about Antonio on our website.

Many of you will have already met him at our BootCamp and Fit In The Park sessions. Here are a few of the things you have said:

"He is really good and I really enjoyed it!"
"Love the different stretches he did at the end."
"He was very motivational in keeping us going in dreadful rain and wind at 6.15am!"
"He demonstrated the exercises well and gave lots of alternatives for those wanting lower impact."

Want to be in the next THIS GIRL CAN campaign?

We've been asked by the casting team for the THIS GIRL CAN campaign if we know of any mums-to-be who would like to be in their next TV commercial.

Here are all the details:

We are currently casting the new THIS GIRL CAN campaign for Sport England. Much like the last tv commercial we are looking for 'real' women (not actors, models or extras) who can go on to inspire other women to get out there and exercise!

We are looking for brilliant, bold and brave girls and women who do some kind of sport or fitness.

This time round, we are featuring the 'I can't' moments and seeing how women often find a way to get through them and make them 'I can' moments.

We'd like to find a woman who would be willing to go through labour with someone filming her for the campaign.

It will be just a portrait shot of a woman pushing. You won't see anything other than the womans face and body pushing. Showing the strength the female goes through.

We would like to find someone due at the end of November/ beginning of December and would have one female camera operator at the ready.

It would be a beautifully shot memory for anyone willing to take part plus a fee.

Please note: We are NOT looking for actors, models, extras or the like. You mustn’t have been in anything before including extra work. The shoot will be for a nationwide campaign and imagery will be used in all media channels.

The production company is Somesuch. You will be fully paid.
