Price Increase Coming Up - Get In Quick!

Just to let you know, our drop-in rate for Buggyfit & Fit In The Park is going up to £10 on Friday (it's currently at £9). Basically, having a round number will make things a lot quicker at the beginning of the classes, as we won't have to keep handing out £1 coins in change!

Our 20 class pass will also be going up from £125 to £130. We feel that at £6.50 a class, this is still excellent value for money.

The 10 class passes will stay at the same price of £75, so it's worth buying one if you're currently doing a lot of drop-ins.

Our class passes can be used at any of our Buggyfit or Fit In The Park classes in South Park Gardens, Wimbledon Park & on Wimbledon Common. Check out our timetable so see which classes will suit you best.

The class prices will go up at midday this Friday (after Buggyfit on Wimbledon Common).

If you'd like to save a bit of cash, you can purchase either a drop-in or class pass online before the prices go up. Any passes bought online at the current price, maybe redeemed throughout February. We're allowing one pass (at the current price) to be bought per person. So get online & save some money today!

Yule-Holes

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas?

I was listening to the radio on a long car journey yesterday, and they were talking about "yule-holes". It's an old Scottish term for the hole you have to make or move your belt to, after you’ve had too much to eat and drink over the Christmas period. Brilliant!

So if your belt now has a yule-hole, or if you're just feeling a bit sluggish, why not blow off the cobwebs with our Mince Pie Burn-Off tomorrow morning (Wed 28 Dec) in South Park Gardens?

We'd like you to pre-book these sessions as our class passes won't be valid, sorry. We know that, like us, you're probably really busy over the festive season, so we hope you understand why we need your commitment in advance.

Bookings for our Mince Pie Burn-Offs close on 17 December. The sessions are £8.50 each.

Durnsford Park, Not Wimbledon Park This Week

With the Tennis Championships heading our way, SW19 will soon become the sporting focus of the world again.

During this busy fortnight (27 June to 10 July), all of our classes will continue to run, however this year we'll be temporarily moving out of Wimbledon Park (it's the Council's new policy unfortunately).

So this here's the plan:

Buggyfit postnatal classes will take place in Durnsford Park (see below). We'll be there at our regular times of 9.30am on Wednesdays & 11.00am on Thursdays (29, 30 June & 6,7 July). If you've got older children, bring them along as there is a fantastic little playground!

Fit In The Park 6.15am sessions will meet just outside of the Revelstoke Road Wimbledon Park gates. We'll then be putting you through your paces with some running drills around the grid & surrounding areas. It should be fun & you don't have to be a runner to take part! See you there at 6.15am on Wednesday & Friday.

Fit In The Park Saturday 9.00am classes will also take place in Durnsford Park (see below). We'll be there on 2 & 9 July with some challenging new moves for you!

Durnsford Park is a lovely green area just off Durnsford Road (put SW19 8EY into your sat nav). You'll find street parking (pay-at-machine) on Wellington, Lucien, Gordondale, Havana & Mount Roads. It's a bit further away from where all the action is, so there are no Wimbledon Tennis parking restrictions.

Obviously we do recommend leaving your car at home & giving your workout an extra boost by walking, running or cycling to our classes. However, if you're driving around Wimbledon during the tennis fortnight, it can get very busy, so it's wise to plan in extra travel time. Parking can also be challenging as there are restrictions in place. Go to the Wandsworth & Merton council websites for details. 

All of our South Park Gardens classes will be running as normal. Check out our timetable for full details of all our classes. Be warned though, we've got some great workouts planned & we may even include a tennis theme here & there. We know this is a busy time, but we'd love to see as many of you as possible training with us over the coming weeks. Monday Nights Are Back In South Park Gardens!

It was fantastic to see so many of you join us on Monday night in South Park Gardens!

Fit In The Park on a Monday night is a great way to start the week. We mix up cardio with strength training, burn calories, tone-up, boost energy levels & have fun!

So get those trainers on & join us at 7.30pm on Monday for a challenging outdoor workout. No need to book, just turn up.

Celebrate With Us This Saturday!

6 years ago, Kate joined me at HA fitness to help run the show while I was busy becoming a mum.

Kate rose to the challenge. She impressed my personal training clients with her tough workouts & wowed my Buggyfit mums with her knowledge. She was also a complete rock to me, being a mum of 2 herself, she was so supportive & full of help & advice.

When I was ready to come back to work, there was absolutely no way I was going to loose Kate. So we expanded our classes & shared the work between us.

Our reputation began to grow & we were asked to set up some outdoor fitness classes in South Park Gardens. Over a few glasses of wine, we decided to go for it. Kate got busy planning some tough sessions, whilst I paced the streets convincing people that Fit In The Park at 6.15am was actually a good idea!

Although Kate now lives in Kent, we're so lucky that she makes the journey to Wimbledon twice a week to run some amazing sessions for us, including her iconic Saturday 9am class.

So come celebrate with us this Saturday as we bring ALL of our kit into South Park Gardens for our 9am Fit In The Park session. We'll workout hard, have some fun & celebrate Kate's 6th year at HA fitness. All levels & abilities welcome.

Catch A Little Spring Fever!

There are so many natural motivators to exercise at this time of year. You just need to get outside & tap into them.

It's only cold if you stand still

Some of my best workout memories are of when we're out there, battling against the elements.
 
You feel invincible, invigorated & pumped with energy. Nothing quite beats it & you just want more.
 
Yesterday, at 6.15am, we charged across South Park Gardens, leaving crazy footprints in the fresh snow. Later on in the morning, our Buggyfit mums powerwalked across a sparkling white Wimbledon Common, with the little ones all tucked up in their buggies.
 
So although we'd prefer it to be dry & sunny, there's still loads of fun to be had outside during the winter months.
 
Wrap up in warm layers & wear gloves & a hat. Remove a layer when you start to sweat & put it back on again if you start to feel chilly.
 
If you wait for the perfect conditions, you'll never get anything done. Somedays you just have to make your own little bit of sunshine.

The New Club...

Many of you have been saying that you'd like to come to our early Wimbledon Park sessions, but when the alarm goes off, it's all too easy to roll over & hide under the duvet. 

So we've set-up the Don't Hit Snooze, Grab Your Shoes Club!

It's all about motivating each other to get out of bed & into the Park. You can find out who is going to which classes & tell everyone which ones you'll be committing to.

It's very informal. To join, all you have to do is email me saying that you'd like to share your email address with other people who come to the 6.15am Wimbledon Park sessions. You'll then be able to join in the chat & get motivated!

We're rolling it out in Wimbledon Park. But if you think this would work for you in South Park Gardens, drop me a line & I'll set it up.
